An individual who contaminated sweets with tranquilliser and gave them to minors at a summer camp in Leicestershire has confessed to sexual offenses against two boys who were between nine and ten.

The accused was detained after eight youngsters and a grown-up fell ill at the facility in the summer month.

The 76-year-old, from that region, confessed to a multiple criminal counts when he appeared at the judicial center on Friday.

However, he disputed one of the sexual offences he was charged with, which was against a nine-year-old child.

The defendant was held in detention before a subsequent court date on November 28th.

'Treat game'

The prosecutor, presenting evidence, outlined the criminal behavior to the legal proceedings.

She said his those affected were children from difficult backgrounds who were staying at a summer camp which he operated.

Ruben played a "treat game" with the minors, the prosecutor said, in which he would go into the sleeping quarters when they were settling down and tell them to eat sweets "as quickly as they can".

She informed the proceedings the defendant had engaged in this activity with the young males "repeatedly", and minors had previously fallen ill the subsequent day.

She said Ruben had been capable of justifying this repeatedly as the children being "overstimulated by activities", until his stepchild had suspicions in recently.

The legal representative continued: "This year his stepson had concerns about the situation, justifiably.

"They chose" to examine in the individual's items."

The prosecutor explained objects including infant oil, Vaseline and injection devices were discovered, and his family member alerted the police about his worries.

She explained the man proceeded to conduct the "treat game" with six boys that time - that Saturday - and they were everyone unwell the subsequent day.

"The police had not arrived by that stage," she continued.

The regulatory agency, the police conduct office, previously told that it was investigating the police response of the events.

The legal representative stated the minors were unable to walk properly due to their condition, so the family member contacted the law enforcement once more.

She said the man then conducted the "treat game" in a space of five youngsters.
